So today was a very fun day! I met up with a friend for lunch and then we went thrifting/shopping for a few hours! I love thrifting so much…it’s how I get my rummage sale fix in the winter time!! The first place we went I scored 3 books from the Left Behind series, I’m trying to get all of em for cheap, plus some Grey’s Anatomy valentine’s day cards, and some much needed GI Joe stickers for my husband!
Then we made our way over to Hobby Lobby because she asked me to make a pink scarf for a friend of her mom’s as she is currently battling breast cancer. Plus of course I bought a few little skeins for myself
I’m going to use I Love This Yarn! in pink and this is the pattern I’m going to use…I’m sooo excited to start this tonight! I think I will be making one for myself and probably my husband in lavender as well for Hodgkin’s awareness. Here’s my yarn I got:
Then we made our way downtown to a local tea store as I wanted to get a new flavor they have. It’s pretty much amazing!! It has green tea with dried papaya, pineapple & strawberry with rose petals. It is also the house tea at my friend’s business so her labels are on the canisters!! I’m sipping some right now as a matter of fact! Yum!!
And last but not least we made our way to another thrift store and I found tons :-S I collect a CorningWare pattern called “Spice O Life” from the 70′s so anytime I go rummaging or thrifting I always keep an eye out for it. I do have a substantial stash but it is continually growing! I found a few things that I don’t think are the actual CorningWare ones but the pattern is so similar I couldn’t resist!!! Here is a little saucepan w/lid of the actual pattern…I already have a few of these but hey you can never have too many right hahaha
Then I found this cheeseball holder thing….it’s not the same brand but I just couldn’t pass it up!!
Then lastly I found these cute canisters…they say Pyrex on them so they’re not CorningWare but Pyrex is still an amazing brand. Plus another Debbie Macomber book!! I’ve been wanting her Dakota series but I always hate paying full price for books so this is the 3rd in the series which means I still need 1 and 2! But I’m sure I’ll find them eventually.
That was my day in a nutshell. I then came home and found a package from my swap partner on Ravelry which made me pretty ecstatic! In it I got a few vintage knitting patterns that I really really love, a toy for my doggie, some yummy chocolate that got bitten into right away and then this amazing cupcake she knitted that I’ve had my eye on for like a week!! I was so excited I even squeeled! hehehe It was pretty awesome!
And THEN I almost forgot…I started my eco-tote this morning. My bag I’m crocheting out of used plastic grocery bags. It’s pretty amazing!!! I can’t wait till I finish it!
Wow that was a very photo heavy post….but I had a great day. So now I’m just going to chill at home all night, watch some American Idol and start on my breast cancer ribbon scarf!!
